The first No Bad Days event: a start to something special

A few weeks ago, we pulled off something that felt long overdue—the first ever No Bad Days Golf Society on-course event. And I can say with full confidence that it was everything we hoped it would be and then some. While this recap is from my own perspective, I really hope anyone who was there will chime in with their thoughts and stories too. Because what made the day so memorable wasn’t just the golf. It was the people, the conversations, the laughter, and the sense that this was just the beginning.

We hosted the event at The Monster Golf Club, a course that lives up to the name in the best possible way. It’s challenging, scenic, and just flat-out fun. I’ll share more about the course itself in a follow-up piece, but this one is all about the full experience. And it wouldn’t be right to start without a proper thank you to the team that helped make this happen.

To The Monster for being incredible hosts. To Titleist, Flecha, and all our supporting sponsors. And to Frank and Mike, who not only organized everything, but somehow kept the energy positive and the details smooth throughout the day. If this is how things kick off, the future of No Bad Days events looks very bright.

Coffee, carts, and community

The day started early, but the energy was already there. As players started rolling in, we had hot coffee, fresh bagels, and that feeling in the air that can only come with something new. It wasn’t just a golf day—it was the launch of something people had been waiting for.

Each player was welcomed with a custom gift bag, which included an event-themed shirt, a set of No Bad Days stickers, some great gear from Team Titleist, and a fresh Flecha hat that became the look of the day. Little touches like that go a long way, and it was clear people appreciated the effort.

After some time catching up and meeting new faces, everyone loaded into carts and made their way to the range. That’s when things really started to feel real. You could hear clubs striking balls, friends laughing at each other’s warmup swings, and a mix of nerves and excitement building.

The practice setup at The Monster is top-notch. A wide grass range gave us plenty of room, and the putting green was dialed in—quick, smooth, and true. You could tell the course was going to be in great shape, which only added to the anticipation.

A proper send-off and a great start

Once everyone was settled in and mostly warmed up, Frank and Mike gave a short opening speech to welcome the group, explain the format, and get us hyped for the day ahead. It was the right blend of casual and exciting, and before long, everyone was heading out to their starting holes.

Following Frank and Mike down to the first tee gave me a small goosebumps moment. It was one of those times where you stop and think, “This is actually happening.” People were laughing, giving each other a hard time, and taking their first swings of the day. And just like that, the event was off and running.

The Monster brought the challenge—and the fun

The course itself was an experience. The Monster delivered in every way, with a layout that gave every kind of golfer something to enjoy.

  • The greens were tough, fast, and fair. They required attention but rewarded good strokes.

  • Carts came equipped with hole overviews and GPS, which was absolutely clutch for navigating an unfamiliar track.

  • There was a great balance of hole styles. Some forced you to be strategic, while others let you open up the driver.

  • And between the ninth and tenth holes, there was a surprise treat waiting that might have been the biggest highlight of the day.

The turn: still thinking about those hot dogs

Let me just say this—I’m still thinking about those hot dogs. I don’t know what kind of magic they put on the grill at the turn, but it worked. Paired with a cold drink, it was the perfect mid-round reset. The sun was out, the shade was limited, and a quick break with food and drinks was exactly what everyone needed.

It was also another moment where the vibe of the group stood out. People didn’t just grab a snack and move on. Some hung around to have a quick chat about how their round was going. It wasn’t just a tournament. It was a community starting to form in real time.

Two nines, two challenges

The front nine had more elevation and played firm and fast. A few holes required thoughtful tee shots, and others tested your approach accuracy. The back nine, on the other hand, brought water into play and added a new layer of risk and reward. It kept things interesting all the way through.

Both sides had personality. There was no letdown. Just steady, enjoyable golf that challenged every part of your game.

After about four and a half hours of play, everyone trickled off the course, bags tossed in carts, scorecards collected. But the day was far from over.

Drinks, tacos, and well-earned prizes

Post-round, the group headed over to the bar area next to the course. The Monster is located beside a huge casino and resort space, complete with simulators, a taco bar, and an awesome setup for hanging out and recapping the day.

After a little time to unwind, the awards were announced. The winning team finished at ten under and walked away with some incredible prizes, including the very first No Bad Days championship belts. Safe to say those belts turned some heads and set the bar high for future events.

Then came the tacos. And not just any tacos. As someone who’s usually a bit on the picky side, I was surprised at how much I loved every bite. Every option was flavorful, fresh, and completely hit the spot. It capped off the day in a way that felt relaxed and celebratory all at once.

The merch struggle is real

No Bad Days merch was on full display, and honestly, resisting the urge to buy one of everything was harder than any tee shot I hit that day. I walked away with two sweaters and a hat, but I could have easily spent way too much more. It’s always cool to see people rocking the brand and wanting to be part of the community in that way.

This was just the beginning

What really stood out to me wasn’t just how well the event went, but how quickly the community came together. People who had never met before were trading stories, making plans to play together, and already asking about the next one.

This event proved what we’ve believed since day one. When you’ve got a golf club in your hands, a good course under your feet, and great people around you, there truly are no bad days.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, played their hearts out, supported the cause, and helped make this feel like something real. We can’t wait to do it all again.

See you at the next one.
